London Bridge Trading Company, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, specializes in the design and production of load bearing, air drop, EOD, tactical, and medical gear for use by military forces, law enforcement, government agencies, and other organizations around the world. We manufacture quality products such as backpacks, pouches, vests, belts, holsters, bags, tactical ballistic personal flotation devices, and air/watertight flexible containers.

LBT was founded by Doug McDougal (left) in the early 1980s. Doug worked from his attic in the early days and was able to rent a small facility as the business grew. London Bridge Trading Company, which was once only one seamstress sewing in a small office warehouse, now employs hundreds of people in multiple locations throughout the USA.

Doug received his Ph.D. in neuroanatomy from the University of California (Davis) in 1973. He is a former associate professor of Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Doug gave the very first lecture in this medical school and was on the faculty for over ten years. He also served in Vietnam as an officer of the United States Air Force.
